Pink hand-dyed fitted skirt with front split and pockets in a hemp and organic cotton twill.
Product Details
We make our hemp hand painted split skirt from a 55% hemp and 45% organic cotton denim fabric that we hand dye and paint in shades of pink. The skirt has a fitted silhouette, with two front pockets, a slit at the front and a high waist. It has a metal zip at the front on an organic cotton tape. If you would like a different colour, please get in touch with us.
We hand make each skirt in our workshop in Nottingham, England. Each item is made-to-order, minimising fabric wastage.

MATERIAL
55% hemp and 45% organic cotton denim fabric.
SUSTAINABLE
Organic cotton is more sustainable than regular cotton because the process is based on long-term thinking. Organic cotton farming does not use synthetic insecticides, fungicides or fertilisers. Healthy soil is instead maintained through crop rotation. This prevents the loss of nutrients into water bodies and avoids both water pollution and the need for artificial fertilisers. Organic cotton farming also uses significantly less water than ordinary cotton, whereby farmers rely mainly on rainwater. Find out more about organic farming at the Textile Exchange!
Hemp is a plant fiber from the stems of the Cannabis plant and has one of the lowest impacts on the environment. This is because the hemp crop requires little water to grow and improves soil health in a similar way as organic cotton, above. Hemp is also biodegradable and one of the stronger textile fabrics. Moreover, hemp fabric is insulating, anti-bacterial and UV-resistant.
The labels we use are made from recycled fabric that is OEKO-TEX standard 100 certified. We also package the product in recycled and compostable materials.

WASH CARE
Hand washing is best for this piece, but it can be machine washed at 30 degrees C. Drip dry and iron on medium heat. Do not bleach.
To waste less water, energy and to make your clothes last longer:
-wash at cooler temperatures;
-wash your clothes less often;
-and don’t tumble dry.
