Hand painted organic cotton jumper in blue-unisex
Hand painted fleece jumper in a 100% organic cotton fleece.
Our hand painted organic cotton jumper in a blue is a vibrant yet relaxed piece, bringing together our brand values of comfort, statement and versatility. With an oversized shape and ribbing around the neck, arms and bottom edge, the jumper is super comfortable and easy to wear. Moreover, the fleece is really soft and fluffy on the inside.
The hand painting is created free-hand by Suzie, using her technique that produces an echo across the fabric, with a mixture of bold and softer tones. Suzie takes a lot of inspiration from Henri Matisse. Despite Matisse’s physical decline in health, he continued to create art using methods that were accessible to him, such as cutting paper. Suzie takes great inspiration from this as she manages chronic back pain. She finds huge freedom of expression in developing new painting techniques that help her to escape from the rigid limitations of her back pain. Suzie uses squeeze bottles to distribute the paint across the fabric in a liberating process. She then pushes the ink across the fabric using a hand-held roller. Every jumper will naturally vary due to the organic nature of this process.
We hand make each jumper in our workshop in Nottingham, England. Each item is made-to-order, minimising fabric wastage.

Organic cotton is more sustainable than regular cotton because the process is based on long-term thinking. Organic cotton farming does not use synthetic insecticides, fungicides or fertilisers. Healthy soil is instead maintained through crop rotation. This prevents the loss of nutrients into water bodies and avoids both water pollution and the need for artificial fertilisers. Organic cotton farming also uses significantly less water than ordinary cotton, whereby farmers rely mainly on rainwater. Find out more about organic farming at the Textile Exchange!
The labels we use are made from recycled fabric that is OEKO-TEX standard 100 certified. We also package the product in recycled paper.
